Koalafi

Koalafi, formerly West Creek, partnered with us for a user-first redesign following its rebrand into a more modern, customer-centric fintech company. Its platform offers both loan and lease-to-own financing, helping customers quickly find the best option for their needs while enabling partners to streamline operations, increase conversions, and reach new audiences.

Through two phases of reskinning and restructuring, we delivered a refreshed platform aligned with Koalafi’s new brand identity while improving user flows for both consumers and merchants. The redesign was intended to require minimal development effort while introducing long-term improvements to the information architecture, user journey, and overall user experience.

Identifying Challenges



We started by understanding Koalafi’s services through stakeholder interviews and workshops, which revealed 2 key challenges:
  • presenting complex financing information clearly on small screens
  • improving the connection between the consumer and merchant portals 

The project was therefore split into 2 phases — first, a reskin with updated branding and UX/UI enhancements; second, a deeper restructuring of content and user flows to support a more scalable future experience.

















Reskin + UX/UI Enhancements


With a new name and brand identity, Koalafi’s platform needed a visual refresh to match. We applied the updated branding across the entire experience — refining colors, typography, spacing, and UI elements — while prioritizing high-impact design updates that required minimal code and structural changes.












Restructuring + Information Architecture



The reskining phase allowed us to rethink Koalafi’s overall user experience. To better support various user and information flows, we reconfigured the wireframes and information architecture across the financing application and user portals. With complex content for both consumers and merchants, we simplified the information hierarchy to prioritize the most important details first.

Deliverables


By the end of the project, Koalafi had redesigned experiences across its servicing portal, merchant portal, financing application, email templates, global styles, and design components — creating a strong foundation for future testing, iteration, and growth.
